1. What we collect
- Account: email address, password hash (bcrypt cost 12), agreement timestamps.
- Quiz answers: frequency, triggers, child age range, aspirations. Stored to personalize practice.
- Conversation transcripts you generate inside the app.
- Family memory: short, derived insights about your family that personalize practice (see section 5). This is not a copy of your raw chats.
- Subscription metadata returned by Stripe (status, period end). We never see your card number.
- Operational telemetry: error reports, page views, feature usage. We do not record keystrokes or your conversations.
- Marketing attribution: which ad or link brought you to Voiced — campaign tags (UTM) and ad-click identifiers from the URL. Used to measure which channels work, never to profile you.
2. How we use it
To run your account, personalize scenarios, charge your subscription, send transactional email (welcome, receipt, trial reminders), and improve the product. We never sell your data, and we never share your conversations, family memory, or quiz answers for advertising. To measure which ads bring parents to Voiced, we do share limited marketing signals with our advertising platforms (Google, Meta, TikTok): funnel events such as “started the quiz” or “signed up” (never their content), and — only to match a sign-up back to the ad you clicked — a one-way hashed, irreversible form of your email. You can limit ad personalization in your browser settings or in your Google, Meta, and TikTok ad preferences; for any privacy request, contact privacy@voicedapp.co.
3. Where it lives
Database: PostgreSQL hosted on Railway (US region). Payments: Stripe. Email: Resend. Errors: Sentry. Analytics: PostHog. Ad measurement: Google, Meta, TikTok. All are bound by data-processing agreements.
4. Your rights
You can export all your data (Settings → Export) or delete your account permanently (Settings → Delete account). Deletion anonymizes PII immediately; transcripts are soft-deleted and purged after 30 days.
5. Family memory & crisis safety
As you practice, Voiced builds a family memory — short notes about what works for your child, recurring triggers, and your own growth edges — so guidance gets more personal over time. This is derived data, not a copy of your raw conversations: each note carries its provenance (where it came from, how confident we are, when we observed it) and fades automatically if it isn’t reconfirmed. You can review the full memory with its audit trail any time in Settings → View family memory, and it is included in your data export. Deleting your account removes it.
If something you write suggests you or your child may be at risk, Voiced shows crisis resources and records a minimal safety flag in a separate, access-restricted log kept for 30 days. That log is never sent to analytics or error tracking, is excluded from the automatic data export, and is available only on request. Voiced is a practice tool, not a crisis service — see our Terms.
6. Cookies
We use a first-party preference flag (voiced:cookies_accepted)
to remember that you consented to storing your quiz answers in your browser, plus
first-party storage that remembers which ad or link brought you here. When our
advertising campaigns are running, the ad platforms above (Google, Meta, TikTok)
also set their own cookies to measure conversions and build remarketing audiences.
